Give yourself permission to breathe life into your dreams

Hi dear one,

A lot of us wait for permission from somebody or wait for a certain situation to change before we give ourselves a chance to develop an idea that has been brewing in our heart and mind, right?

My question to you is, do you really need the situation to completely change before you give yourself permission to follow your heart’s desire?

If this resonates with you, here are some helpful perspectives.

First of all, we might be fearing the disapproval of people who don’t even matter to us or who don’t have our best interests in mind. So take a step back and decide whose opinions matter to you and whose don’t. As for the latter category, make a decision to disengage and distance yourself from their perspectives.

If it’s a loved one whose opinion and presence are dear to you, and they aren’t supportive of your dream, it could very well be that they simply need to be nudged. Some people need to see the courage of your decision, your willpower and how you go about giving importance to your dreams before they actually have that “Aha!” moment and start respecting you for what you are thinking or your ideas. It might be their own fears or insecurities or a desire to keep you and themselves safe that could be the reason for their resistance.

Ultimately, the only person who needs to give you permission is you yourself. Give yourself that permission and the rest will fall into place – it’s not going to be easy, but that’s the case with everything that’s worthwhile in life. Good luck and I will see you soon!

What is keeping you pegged like the Elephant?

Just like the powerful elephant chained to a peg, most of us move through life never realizing our potential or even daring to give it a shot. You can choose to defy the norms, believe in your power and make some bold decisions. Don’t let your conditioning stop you.

Get off that hamster-wheel & into a life you deliberately choose!

That feeling…

The weekend has been great fun, spending time with family and friends indulging in many activities including some much-needed self-care. However, as Sunday draws to a close, you have that familiar but dreaded feeling creeping in. Monday morning blues have started tainting your Sunday evenings as well. You feel agitated and snap at people dear to you. You feel heavy in your heart, your gut, your throat. You feel terrible in your body, mind, and soul!

The price you are paying for turning a blind eye…

You are always trying to keep up with the hamster wheel or the rat race where you need to keep running, be a step ahead of others, please someone at work so that you can climb the ladder or just cling on to that job. The stress has had you eating poorly, drinking a bit more often than you would prefer, paying little attention to yourself, not giving priority to people and activities that you know are truly important. You’re starting to feel like a failure altogether. You’re starting to doubt yourself.

You know that if the trend continues your health will continue to spiral down into disastrous consequences, along with all that you hold dear – loved ones, your career, financial stability, and independence. It’s like that metaphorical palace that you have built with all the love in the world, is starting to crumble away at the edges.

However, you have a choice…

Take small and consistent steps that lead to amazing results

You could enjoy freedom and creativity instead of the dreaded stress each and every day, Mondays included! You can lay the foundation for the life of your dreams, made with all that you hold dear, cherish and dream about. You can keep intimidation at bay, by taking small and consistent steps that lead to amazing results. If you’re feeling inspired to make a change in your life and choose freedom and creativity, here are 3 steps that will help:

1. Check if your ladder is leaning on the right wall

A lot of us toil away all our lives, fitting into the societal or parental definition of success or what we ought to do to be doing to be considered a success by others. However, if you have a sinking feeling every Sunday, it might well be that the ladder you are so dedicatedly climbing up is leaning on to the wrong wall altogether. What if instead of being an accountant, you have secretly cherished a dream of becoming a photographer? What if instead of being a line cook, you always dreamt of teaching kids how to paint? I am just offering some food for thought.

“If the ladder is not leaning against the right wall, every step we take just gets us to the wrong place faster.” ― Stephen R. Covey

2. Choose

If you realize that your ladder is indeed leaning on the wrong wall, first be proud of yourself for having shone light onto that truth and for acknowledging it. You now have a choice, to keep going up the ladder or, make a shift and consider another wall and ladder combination altogether. Either way, it is a choice. You don’t have to make a frightening leap right now. Just follow your curiosity and see what activity or choice makes you feel lighter and inspired.

3. Take baby steps

If, after days or months of thinking, you’re ready to give another wall that inspires you and your curiosity a shot, you can take bite-sized steps in the direction of exploring that opportunity. This could mean reaching out to folks in that area or enrolling for trainings that support skill building or hiring a mentor or coach who will help you explore further and make a plan that fits your pace and dreams.

In conclusion…

Paint the canvas of your life in bold bright colorful strokes

Life is short and beautiful. And, you are important. There’s no time to waste cow-towing to someone else’s judgment of how to live your life and what you should be doing with it. Paint the canvas of your life in bold, bright, colorful strokes, dear ones. There’s only one of you in this world with your unique gifts! Spark your inner brilliance for the world to see, thereby inspiring others to spark their brilliance too!

What really is your purpose in life?

𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐩𝐮𝐫𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐞…

Much spoken about in recent times, what does it really mean for you? 🤔

⤵️ A sense of hollowness deep inside your heart and/or your gut despite all the achievements which are “perfect” on paper (an envious career, an impressive lifestyle, a family, friends). You sense a hunger to know more than what meets the eye.
⤵️ Disconnection from what your health needs – denying yourself nutritious food on time by forgetting or being too busy, reliance on smoking or alcohol a lot more than you even enjoy.
⤵️ Failing health – the wakeup calls are getting stronger.
⤵️ Being frequently irritated at work and home. Small instances, even pleasant interactions might infuriate you.

⚡ You live in authentic joy that comes from true connection – loving relationships … a career that does justice to your potential, skills values .. a beautiful relationship with your body, caring for yourself comes with ease…
⚡ You are able to enjoy and pursue material successes from a place of gratitude and fulfillment (no more competition, no rat races anymore, but you operate from a place of contribution)
⚡ You are happy from deep within that you are a constant source of joy and inspiration for others. You are able to visualize and manifest the best life for yourself and your loved ones.
⚡ You are inspired to reach for your deepest potential despite any challenge or fears, because you are so in alignment with your true blueprint – your life’s purpose.
⚡ Your body, mind and soul are in such divine alignment that every moment brings joy, calm and fulfillment.

🚨 4 years ago I would’ve turned away at the first instance “life purpose” was mentioned. A few wakeup calls happened in between and in such quick succession – experiences that were hard to live through. I needed something to hold on to, something to believe in, something larger than myself. Walking that hard path I realized that all that I was looking for was within me. My beliefs had to shift for me to survive and I did. My exploration led to own my path and walk on it with courage, which till today I humbly and gratefully do.

🔥 Each of us has a brilliance, a spark of divinity that we are born with. We are more powerful than we give ourselves credit for.
🔥 Living in denial – just because society will disapprove or it feels too destabilizing or whatever it is that’s holding you back – sooner or later causes a disconnection from our awareness of ourselves, from what makes us truly happy, from our loved ones, from our values as a human being, from living in physical/mental/spiritual – just like I did until those wakeup calls.
🔥 Living in connection – puts us directly in touch with our gifts, gives us choices to express ourselves in bold, beautiful ways that inspire us and those around us. We are uplifted in the spirit of connection and contribution.
🔥 It is our right, an absolute gift to claim our unique path in life and live it unabashedly.
🔥 Health, happiness and wealth can be delightful side effects

To put it succinctly, it’s an exploration that the most committed are gifted to experience. Every step on that journey is a well-earned gift, opening us to our own gifts and brilliance. There is no destination to get to, you quickly realize, because all the fruits are planted along the path.

𝐁𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐧 𝐛𝐲 𝐚𝐬𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐟:

💡 What were those moments from the time I can remember until now that have made you feel the happiest, fulfilled, crying tears of joy and love?
💡 Which qualities and skills of yours do you most enjoy expressing especially in relation to others (teaching someone a new skill, constructing someone’s dream home, writing a book helping teenagers cope with changes, etc.)
💡 Is there a pattern emerging once you carefully consider the first 2 questions that could be an intersection of what lights you up and earn an income from?

Now observe/ask yourself:
☀️How often do you have those experiences and moments in your daily life including career?
☀️If not often enough and if you desire these, what needs to change? Those are the first hints to creating your action plan.

Those tearfully happy moments where you feel your heart bursting with love, fulfillment and happiness don’t need to come once in a blue moon.

Go and grab life by its horns, paint your horizon with all the colors you can conjure up.

It’s your life and you’re blessed with all the resources to make it spectacular. ☀️🎊
